Strengthened by God against sin

Charitoō,

There is a beautiful picture, a scripture of a righteous king who followed not his own heart but confided in YHVH. He is Hezekiah. His name means strengthened by Yahweh.

Hezekiah was confronted by the message of the mighty king of Assyria who blasphemed YHVH and Hezekiah's trust in YHVH and threatened to destroy all of Juda.

The message from Sennacherib (his name means sin be multiplied - representing the adversary here) of Assyria was this:
Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria. Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered? Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar? Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah? 2Ki 19:11-13

... and this was not the first message he sent.

However Hezekiah humbled himself, prayed before YHVH and inquired from the prophet Isaiah (YHVH has saved) the son of Amoz (strength) - a picture onto Jesus!

... and Isaiah said:
"Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it. By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD. For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake." 2Ki 19:32-34
The tactics of the enemy are always to scare us, to make us give up and abide by his deception and lies. He makes us think that in YHVH we have no power and goes to the extent as to blaspheme His name. We, on the other hand, always have a choice to decide who we'll believe.

What was the end result?

Hezekiah and Juda did not lift a finger, That very night the Angel of the Lord destroyed 185 000 Assyrians.

Sennacherib (Sin Multiplied, now not multiplying anymore) went back to his headquarters, Nineveh (the place of Ninus, the fish god). As he was praying to his gods his own sons, Armenia (the curse reversed) and Esarhaddon (brother of darkness), killed him.

Indeed,  YHVH strengthens us. He removed all sin and sins and iniquities He remembers no more.

u r blessed!
