Do you know how to WAIT upon the Lord?

"But they that wait upon the LORD ..."

"wait"

Wait?

Ever heard how someone abused the phrase to wait upon the Lord?

They would normally link it up and interpret this likening it to someone waiting for a bus or train

... a kind-of fatalistic wait

... without any choice

... without any say

... without any freedom

... without the taking into consideration of your circumstances

The picture is that of a desperate, hopeless wait ... because, so you are told, God is in control and who knows what He will do?

Ever heard this preached?

Have you?

Can you hear the buzzer?

Well, that is not at all what the Word of God teaches!

The Hebrew word used for waiting upon God is qâvâh rather meaning to be bound together with God, to think as He thinks towards you, look for, to hope upon God, to expect and look eagerly for, to collect, to bind together.

Our translation of the Hebrew word qâvâh could easily have been better but the translator chose the English word wait for some perverse reason. (And yeah, they might have been inspired by the Holy Spirit, but I do not believe that they always translated correctly)

There are better words to use in line with Abba's heart

So, let's align (bridle) ourselves with what God says we should be binding (agreeing or bridling) ourselves with - Jesus!

YHVH says He sees you without spot or blemish, made righteous, blessed in every area of your life, in abundance of His goodness, sanctified and holy, a co-heir in His Kingdom - His beloved!

That is what He says about you and about me!

That is what I bridle myself to!

That is my expectation even in my circumstances!

HalleluYAH!

Read with understanding

Now we can read Isaiah 40 with new Godly insight!

Hast thou not known?

hast thou not heard,

that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary?

there is no searching of his understanding.

He giveth power to the faint;

and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary,

and the young men shall utterly fall:

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings as eagles;

they shall run,

and not be weary;

and they shall walk,

and not faint. Isa 40:28-31

Amen!

I am bound to His goodness and kindness and everlasting love .... and so are you!
